The basic thought, of making the agriculture a profitable as well as a sustainable activity, emerged in the form of an FPC namely, Famrnet Agro Farmers Producer Company Limited (called “Farmnet” in short), between established farmers as well as farmer groups in the locality.

  • Farmnet is registered as per companies act with its registered office at Door No. 1/ 1243, High School Road, Koottanad (P.O), Palakkad – 679 533, Kerala,
  • Administrative office at Ameya House, Guruvayoor Road, Koottanad, Palakkad – 679 533, Kerala.

Out of 15 directors of Farmnet, 7 are in big farmer category and rest are in small and marginal category. Among them 3 are women farmers.

Why Choose Us

As per the terms and rules of Government, we have already formed 15 Farmers Interest Group (called FIGs) with a total number of 150-170 farmer members, which we target for 1000 members within a period of 10-12 months.

Extending marketing support to our farmers is all the more important, because removing/replacing the middleman from the role of intermediary and connecting with actual consumers will earn more benefits to the farmer.

Our Objective

To carry on the business of cultivation, production, harvesting, raising or dealing in any agricultural produce as agriculturists, farmers or gardeners or/and to set up processing unit for import, export, for distribution and marketing or deal in agricultural produce of all description, like fruits, vegetable, seeds, food grains, root & tuber crops and herbal products and trade in all the products required for cultivation, harvesting, production and development of seeds, food grains, vegetables, fruits, leaves, root & tuber crops and herbal items and also arrange cattle farming, poultry and other livestock for aforesaid purposes and producing commodities like meat, eggs, milk, leather, wool, other dairy products etc

Facilitating adoption of latest technology, setting up sales and value addition facilities, providing financial support and administrative skills to regain the traditional glory of Agriculture and to impart proud-to-be-a-farmer feeling by bringing them to the forefront of the society.

Our Mission

To carry on the business of production, harvesting, procurement, grading, pooling, export of primary produce of members or import of goods or services for their benefit, either by itself or through other institutions.
To carry on the business of preserving, drying, distilling, brewing, venting, caning, packaging, branding and brand development of produce of the members either by itself or through other institutions.
To provide Insurance of producers or their primary produce
To render technical services, consultancy services, training, research and development and all other activities for the promotion of the interest of the Members

Products

Farmnet Agro Farmers Producer Company Limited will be manufacturing value added products in a brand name. All the value-added products and Farm Fresh products will be of our FPO brand.

The Farmers Marketing HUB, which we are planning in the initial stage will be the FPO Brand shop. The extended future marketing facility will have all the similar consumer goods required by all segment of customers.

The marketing HUB is ideally located at Guruvayur Road, Koottanad, is bordering three districts, namely Palakkad, Thrissur and Malappuram and it is a very convenient location for shopping.

Raw products

Rice, Green Chilly, Banana, Turmeric, Ginger, Pepper, Coconut, Vegetables, Fruits, Tubers, etc. While these are procured from farmers or farmer group of our FPC, quality can be assured at a reasonable price competing the similar items in market.

Value Added Products

Different formulations from rice, ready to fry dried items from vegetables, fried items from banana, tapioca, sweet potato, potato, etc. Fruit pulp, jam, squash, ketchup / sauce and many traditional forms.

Agricultural Organic Inputs

Cow dung, cow urine, “Jeevamritham”, “Beejamritham”, “Panchagavyam”, Coco pith, Vermi Compost, Regular Compost, Fertilisers, Bio pesticides, etc.

FEATURES

The main objective of our business plan is to double the income of our farmers, once we attain the objectives of establishing a business venture. It is also our aim to transform the farmer community and create a feeling that a farmer can also be a business man with the available resources and materials within his/her reach.

Live Kitchen or Processing Unit

Live kitchen is an innovative idea to showcase our products and expose the process. This will be showcased as a live and transparent facility where the consumer can see for themselves, the activities inside kitchen / processing unit. The products will be showcased in this outlet as well as distributed. There will be various value-added products from rice, banana, vegetables, fruits, etc. The facility will be in an area of approximately 2000 sqft where modern food processing equipments like vegetable choppers, sauce and jam makers, freeze driers, retort packing machines, pulp extractors, virgin coconut oil extractor, different frying machines, grinders, flour mixers, filling machines, etc.

Value Addition Facilities

We propose to bring back the traditional wisdom of taste by reviving traditional recipes. Several products form rice, vegetables, banana, tapioca, etc, where cooking is not involved, will be showcased converting to home need products as well as dietary supplements. Fruits like jackfruit, pineapple, tomato, papaya, etc., which are generally wasted otherwise, will be converted in to value added products with latest technology available in the processing centre. On the very next day itself, unsold vegetables will be converted to value added products in our centre. Ready to cook vegetables as per different recipes will be prepared and stored as per CFTRI technical knowhow.

Nursery

Department of Agriculture conducts various researches in agri sector and introduced various types of seeds and plants with high yield, productivity and pest resistance. This will enable farmers to get high yielding seeds and plants of assured growth. Flowering and fruit plants are in high demand now which will also be made available from reputed firms. As a part of promoting awareness on leaf vegetables, the seedlings of same will be made available. Exotic verities and GM verities are now becoming an area to exploitation, which can be avoided by providing quality planting materials in reasonable price from reasonable sources.

Cold Storage

This is a very vital and important segment for our project, because we may have to store perishable items like vegetable and fruits in cold storage for few days to prevent wastage. The main advantage we see with the facility is that the seasonal fruits can be stores and used to extend the availability continuous. The facility being required high funding, its kept in our future expansion plan. As a beginning, traditional cool chambers and mini freezers will be used to attain the requirement.

Custom Hiring Centre for Agricultural Machinery and Manpower Bank

Making availability of Fertilizers and Pesticides

We will be procuring agricultural inputs in bulk to facilitate our member farmers as well as FIGs. By this they will be assured of benefits of lesser price as well as better availability. Organic manure prepared at our site as well as available with member farmers / FIGs will be marketed through our facilities. As a part of promoting organic cultivation, “Jeevamritham”, “Beejamritham”, “Panchagavyam”, etc., will be made available for members as well for public.

Budget Canteen

We will be providing budget meal to the general public utilizing all the available agricultural produce, mainly produced in organic methods. In a way, this is a way to attract more people to our business facility and activities. This way we are promoting an organic culture in public. This will be an additional source of income to our Live Kitchen

Others

Farmnet is planning to establish a unit to promote bio gas plants, solar energy, different methods converting waste to manure at source, wormy compost and other organic methods along with Vrikshayurveda, Technics and recipes to promote agricultural yield.

More than a decade of experience across the entire value chain of furniture making. His tryst with furniture sector started as a distributor of various furniture items across Kerala State,
later became a Director for Kerala Furniture Consortium Pvt. Ltd. a project supported and funded by Govrnment of India and Govt. of Kerala jointly.
As the Director, worked closely with various government institutions, departmernts and furniture groups in Kerala and outside Kerala.
Helped the Company in obtaining grants under various schemes to establish a Common Facilities Centre and later strengthening its market linkages.
Developed Coir Wood a raw material made of coir for making of furniture in collaboration with NIIST-CSIR and Coir Board. Coir Wood is a sustainable alternative raw material for rainforest hardwood.
Working closely with Coconut Development Board to revive traditional raw material of Coconut Palm Wood. Concept note is under preparation
